A healthier you, a healthier environment
PaperChef products are made of the finest materials all compostable and biodegradable and since our boxes do not use a serrated metal cutting edge, like plastic wrap or aluminum foil, the boxes are completely recyclable as is.
PaperChef products are Forest Stewardship Council certified FSC® C017242. FSC is an international non-profit organization that supports and promotes the environmentally appropriate management of the world’s forests.
Even though recycling is a large part of living a green lifestyle, paper can only be recycled up to seven times before the molecules become too degraded to use again. Therefore, PaperChef strongly believes that using FSC® C017242 certified responsibly harvested forests is an important element of producing a product that truly is environmentally friendly.

Since Culinary Parchment is a genuine vegetable parchment paper, all PaperChef products are safe up to 425°F (218°C). However, it’s important to make sure the edges of the paper do not come in direct contact with the hot element. To prevent the edges from curling, fold the edges away from the element or trim off any excess paper.
Yes, all PaperChef products are certified by Star-K and the Orthodox Union (OU), two of the leading Kosher-certifying agencies in North America. Both agencies have also certified PaperChef products as Kosher-for-Passover, making Culinary Parchment Multipurpose Paper particularly useful in maintaining separation of Passover crockery and cutlery.
Yes, parchment paper is not only for lining your baking sheets, but it can line any form of cookware, including frying pans. Using parchment paper as a lining will not only make for easier clean-up but will also increase the life of your cookware. In fact, parchment paper is useful in protecting your food against potentially harmful Teflon surfaces by creating a natural non-stick barrier between the pan and your food.
Yes, a parchment paper-lined frying pan is particularly good for cooking eggs, including fried and scrambled eggs. Simply line your pan and drop the eggs directly onto the paper. This method is also great for cooking bacon because it keeps the bacon flat. Lining your pan will also help to prevent burning and sticking, making for easier clean-up since you won’t need to scrub a messy pan afterwards. Visit our video section for a quick tutorial on "How to Line Your Skillet".
It’s simple! To start, pull out the desired length of Multipurpose Paper needed, and then tuck in the lid flap. Hold the box firmly with one hand and tear downward with the other hand. Please click here to watch a video demonstration of how to achieve a perfect tear.
Yes, it can be used on the barbecue. In fact, it’s ideal for roasting meats with sauces that easily burn and get messy on an open grill. Also, Cooking Bags are a great way to roast vegetables, keeping them hot and moist without the usual burning and sticking that happens with aluminum foil. However, since parchment paper must not be exposed to direct flame, it’s best to place it on a steel tray, roasting pan or aluminum foil before being set on the grill or top rack. Also, the barbecue temperature must not exceed 425°F (218°C).
Yes, parchment paper is great for separating food before freezing. When separating foods like hamburger patties for the freezer with wax paper, sometimes the meat can stick to the separator, making them difficult to separate without leaving wax paper on the meat when it comes time to thaw. Parchment paper’s natural non-stick surface makes for easy separation with no tearing or unwanted paper on the meat.
Yes, parchment is safe to use in the microwave at all temperatures and settings. In fact, Culinary Parchment products are ideal for the microwave because there’s no risk of burning or melting. It is also superior to both plastic wrap and aluminum foil because parchment paper will not transfer molecules like plastic and there is no risk of arcing like with foil. Multipurpose Paper is also a perfect microwave liner, making clean-up from spilling or splashing quick and easy.
Parchment paper is waterproof, so when you wet the paper it actually becomes more pliable and stronger. Wetting the paper will help it to form to the shape of your cookware, making it easier to work with and more durable.
Culinary Parchment is treated with an FDA-approved food-grade silica for optimum non-stick properties. This treatment is completely safe and will not transfer onto your food.
Parchment paper a highly dense paper made from the pulp of FSC (Forest Stewardship Council Canada) certified forests and other known sources. Paper, in general, can only be recycled up to seven times before the molecules become too destroyed to use again, so Culinary Parchment strongly believes that responsible harvesting of forests is an important element to a producing an environmentally conscious product.

“En papillote” is a classic French cooking technique that traditionally uses a pouch made of parchment paper to steam various meats, seafood, vegetables and herbs together. This method enhances the food’s natural flavors, as well as seals in vitamins and nutrients. PaperChef Culinary Parchment Cooking Bags conveniently eliminate the need to crimp and create a pouch from single sheets of parchment.
Culinary Parchment is both biodegradable and compostable, meaning it can be disposed of either in your green bin (where available) or in a composter. Parchment paper will break down in a reasonable amount of time in a natural environment, while producing no toxic residue.
Once it’s been in contact with food, parchment paper is not recyclable in all areas. However, since the Culinary Parchment does not use the serrated metal cutting edge, like plastic wrap or aluminum foil, the boxes are fully recyclable as is.
Culinary Parchment is the first parchment paper to be FSC-certified. It is made from a highly dense, genuine vegetable parchment paper which provides the highest heat resistance and the highest non-stick properties available.
